Sql Server History

Sql server is a RDMS provided by Microsoft to use it on Windows operating system.
The development history of sql server is as following

-> 1987 sysbase releases sqlserver for UNIX

-> 1988 Microsoft,Sysbase and Aston-Tateport Sql server to OS/2

-> OS/2 operating system is designed by Microsoft and IBM.

-> In 1989 Microsoft ,Sysbase and Aston-Tateport released Sql Server 1.0 for OS/2

-> In 1990 Sql server 1.1 is released with support for windows 3.0 clients

-> In the same year Aston-Tata drops out of Sql Server development

-> 1991 Microsoft and IBM ended joint development of OS/2.

-> 1993 Microsoft Launched windows NT 3.1 OS

-> 1993 Microsoft and Sysbase released version 4.2 of sql server for windows NT

-> In 1994 Microsoft and sysbase co-development of sql server offically ended,from then Microsoft contains to develop the    windows version of sql derver and sysbase continous to deveop the unix version of sql server.
